In line with her tradition of celebrating and holding a Thanksgiving service annually, the Delta State Local Government Service Commission has held her annual thanksgiving in grand style.
While addressing staff of the Commission, the Chairman of the Commission, Hon.(Dcn) Joseph Otirhue, commended the management and staff of the Commission for their support, cooperation and commitment to work.
He stressed that a single tree cannot make up a forest adding that,for the Commission to remain viable and achieve her goals, was a collective effort.
He encouraged the staff not to be weary of doing good adding that, in due season they shall reap the benefits of their labour.
Otirhue who expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for sustenance throughout the year, said that it is good for God’s children to dwell in his presence, because in it, there is fullness of joy. He added that the best gift we can give to God is to praise him because he inhabits the praises of his children.
The Thanksgiving service was graced by the management and staff of the Commission as well as staff invited from some of the councils.
The thanksgiving service had Pastor Chris Daniels of Mountain Top Tabernacle, Asaba, as a guest preacher, who preached a sermon entitled “Thanking God for His Unspeakable Blessings “
The highlight of the of service, was the presentation of cash awards to deserving staff of the Commission and cash gift to widows of the Unified Local Government Service, from the various senatorial district of the State.
